Cinnamon Trust
The Cinnamon Trust is a specialist national charity aimed at supporting people in their last years and their much loved, much needed companion pets.
They aim to give peace of mind to pet owners, prevent animal suffering and make it easier for people in their final years to benefit from the love, sense of purpose and companionship that having a pet can give.
What they do:
- a network of volunteers help elderly and terminally ill pet owners to provide vital care for their pets
- when staying at home is no longer an option for the owner, The Cinnamon Trust keep a Pet Friendly Care Homes Register that lists residential/nursing homes that are happy to accept residents with pets
- when a pet is bereaved or the owner has moved into a care home which does not accept pets, they will take on the long term care of that pets. Where possible, the Trust will keep in touch with visits, letters or photos of the pets
