Wanstead Society
The Wanstead Society is an independent, non-political organisation that works to protect, preserve and improve our local area.
They do the following activities:
- check through the planning applications list every week
- make comments on planning applications and speak at hearings
- work with town planners to create solutions that enhance the area
- support campaigns to increase footfall in local shops
- hold social events for members to get to know one another and their local representatives
- create forums such as political hustings in the run up to elections
- meet once a month at Wanstead House
