What are day centres?

Day centres or day opportunties are building based activities which support people with:

  • physical disabilities and or sensory impairment
  • dementia
  • learning disabilities
  • older people

They support and empower you to develop and increase your life skills, confidence, wellbeing and encourage you to play an active part in your community.

What do centres offer?

Day centres are places for older people, disabled people or people who need extra support to take part in fun and engaging activities, catch up with friends and have lunch or a cup of tea.

Some centres arrange trips out for groups too.

There's often transport available to get to and from the day centre and some centres have staff who are specially trained to help you if you are older or less able to move around.
