Volunteering can be highly rewarding and gives you the chance to give something back to the community.
Anyone can volunteer, and it is a great way to:
- Meet new people and connect with your local community
- Gain experience, self-confidence, and new skills
- Make a real difference to the lives of others and the community you live in
Volunteer Centre Redbridge
Redbridge has a Volunteer Centre based at RedbridgeCVS, which can support you in finding a voluntary role. They have information on how to become a volunteer, offer one-to-one appointments with advisers and allow you to attend an introduction to volunteering workshop.
The Do-it website has volunteering opportunities locally and around London.
Volunteer with Redbridge libraries
Find out more about volunteering at a Redbridge library. There are many different opportunities available and you can read through the descriptions to decide what would suit you.
Volunteer at BHR hospitals
There are a number of different roles available at Barking, Havering and Redbridge hospitals for those wishing to volunteer. The voluntary services will help you to work out how you might like to get involved with the hospitals.
Reach Volunteer

Local charity
You can give unpaid help to a local charity shop. Visit the charities website you are interested in or pop into your local branch.
