Support and help for adults

Delrose House is a 24-hour care home for adults with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties.

Disability Rights UK works to create a society where everyone with lived experience of disability or health conditions can participate equally as full citizens. The charity is run by people who have lived or who are living with a disability or health condition.

Disability Rights UK offers:

• expert advice on benefits for disabled people
• advice on work opportunities, including apprenticeships, training and career support for disabled people
• helplines (phone number provided is for general enquiries)
• advocacy, consultancy and information
• a range of guides and publications which are written by people who have experience of living with a disability or health conditions
• specialist training in welfare benefits and disabilities

The Disability Law Service (DLS) provides information and advice to disabled and deaf people. It is run by disabled people and has grown from a voluntary organisation to a professional company.

DLS provides advice and information in the following six areas of law:

• Goods and Services
• Community Care
• Employment
• Welfare Benefits

Disabled Go provides detailed information about the access arrangements and accessibility options at all kinds of venues across the country. Including hotels, council offices, restaurants, colleges, tourist attractions, libraries, hospitals, leisure centres - the list goes on! All access information has been collected in person by DisabledGo’s team of surveyors and Disabled Go works with a wide range of organisations such as councils and universities to provide you with up to date information and good accessibility options.
