Rowallan House have 41 furnished bedrooms that they encourage residents to decorate so they feel cosy and like home. There are four lounges where residents can relax, socialise, see visitors and enjoy activities, and we have secure, landscaped gardens with patios. There’s also a designated space for growing, and the paths have been designed to be accessible for wheelchair users.

Saint Francis Hospice

Saint Francis Hospice is an independent charity that cares for local people with life limiting illnesses who reside in Brentwood, Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge.

The Hospice supports patients in their own home as well as providing in-patient and day care services at their building in Havering-atte-Bower. The care provided often extends beyond the physical treatment of symptoms. It caters to the emotional, psychological, spiritual and social needs of patients, their families and their carers.

Most patients are referred via their GP or another healthcare professional, but people can also refer themselves.

SeeAbility

SeeAbility work with people who are visually impaired and have multiple disabilities to help them realise their potential in life and to make choices which will help to enhance their quality of life.

SeeAbility provide the following services:

  • raising awareness of the prevalence of sight problems amongst people with learning disabilities
  • raising awareness of the high level of under-detection of sight problems amongst people who have learning disabilities
  • helping improve and increase access to regular, accessible and effective eye care for adults with learning disabilities
  • enhancing the quality of life for people with learning disabilities when a sight problem has been identified
  • helping, advising and supporting carers, social care and health professionals, and eye care professionals to provide improved services for people with learning disabilities
