Support and help for adults

Shared Lives (formerly known as Adult Placement) is a service that matches adults with learning disabilities and/or autism with carers and their families, to live within their home. Shared Lives local branch is in Newham.

Sir James Hawkey Hall was the civic hall for the former borough of Wanstead and Woodford, that was opened in March 1955 by Sir Winston Churchill. It's grand mid-century decor and commemorative historical items lend an impressive backdrop for your function. It is avaliable to hire for all sorts of events.

SCASS Ltd at Blossom House is a small independent organisation run on a non-profit-making basis. SCASS Ltd consists of two provisions, i.e. a Resource Centre and a Residential Care Home, where they specialise in caring for young people who have learning difficulties, special needs and physical disabilities. 

The Resource Centre offers our young adults the opportunity to meet their peers in an environment where they can be happy, safe and stimulated, whilst socialising and improving their independence through life skills. 

The Residential Care Home offers residential, short-break and supported living accommodation to young adults with similar needs as above and offers the highest quality of life both in terms of accommodation and support all provided in a purpose-built property with eight bedrooms and a garden/leisure area.

St Paul's Community Centre and Parish, Goodmayes has been built through a dynamic partnership between St Paul's Parochial Church Council, the London Borough of Redbridge and Family Mosaic Housing Association.

The Church has an active community and social activity programme including an art show and participation in community events.

The Church hall plays host to birthday parties, puppet shows, multi-faith religious events and is available for hire through the church. There is seating for 120 people with a fully fitted kitchen and toilets.
